Topics Covered in the DISCOVER Online Career Assessment Workshop

Step 1: Getting Started

• The definition and importance of a career assessment
• Instructions on how to take the DISCOVER assessment

At the completion of module one, students will complete the DISCOVER assessment. The assessment can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on student.

Step 2: DISCOVER Log-on Instructions

Encourage your students to print out the log-on instructions before taking the DISCOVER assessment.

Step 3: DISCOVER Assessment

Students will complete DISCOVER, an online career assessment created and annually updated by ACT. This assessment will assist them in career planning.

Step 4: Results and Research

An interpretation of DISCOVER assessment results and how to perform research on the program.

Step 5: Next Steps

Student should complete this survey to demonstrate what they have learned and provide feedback.
