Faculty
The mutual goal of both faculty and the CREW Career Center is student success. By working together, we can ensure our students have the appropriate tools to accomplish their career goals or to secure placement in advanced academic programs. The CREW Center provides the following services to faculty:
- Customized Classroom Workshops: CREW customizes class presentations on career-related topics to meet the needs of your particular academic area. Workshop topics include, but are not limited to, career assessment, resume writing, job correspondence, mock interviews, job searches, networking, professional etiquette, labor market trends, and connecting majors with career possibilities.

- Referral For Assignments: If your students need to complete assignments related to their career
development, refer them to the CREW Center as a resource! By engaging students in the career planning process
and enhancing their academic skills, we can assist your students in writing papers on career interests,
conducting informational interviews and participating in career seminars and events.

- Co-op and Internships: Co-ops and internships are important to your students’ overall educational
experience. CREW assists students in locating experiential education opportunities and coordinates the academic
credit process.
- Employer Referrals: We recognize that faculty work closely with practitioners in their related field.
Based upon your referral, CREW will contact employers to set up job, internship, and co-op opportunities, as
well as answer any questions regarding our services.
- Referral for WIA: The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) is legislation passed by Congress with the primary
goal of filling critical skill shortages and helping people find employment. WIA is not an entitlement program
and continued funding is based upon the numbers of WIA participants who obtain employment after skills training.
One of the facets of WIA is to provide supportive services to students who need assistance purchasing uniforms
or obtaining licensures to perform their job duties. Learn how you can partner with the CREW center to make
these services available to your students.

I had the pleasure of working with the CREW Center this spring while recruiting for the Kentucky Derby. The CREW Center organized a recruiting process that fit my needs as well as those of the students. Working with them was a pleasure. The energy and enthusiasm they bring to the department is refreshing. They are a professional and organized group full of inventive ideas. I look forward to working with them in the future.
