Workshop Topics

This workshop will provide students with an overview of the CREW Center and how to customize a resume based on career goals. This workshop must be conducted in the 8th floor computer lab located in the Jefferson Education Center building on the JCTC downtown campus. Students will have the opportunity to use the Winway Resume writing software to create a resume. By the end of the workshop, students will have a working draft a resume saved as both a winway document and a word document. If additional time is needed to complete the resume, students can visit the CREW Center or complete the resume from any computer. Note: students are encouraged to come to the session with a completed resume packet and are required to bring a USB. Students will not be able to print documents in the computer lab.

This workshop will provide students with an overview of the CREW Center and how to customize a resume based on career goals. By the end of the workshop, students will have a completed resume packet to assist them in organizing and formatting a resume.

This workshop will provide students with an overview of the CREW Center as well as tips and techniques for successful interviewing. By the end of the workshop, students will know how to prepare for an interview; be aware of common questions asked in an interview and how to respond appropriately; and understand what is expected of them after an interview.

This workshop will provide students with an overview of the CREW Center as well as understand what behaviors are expected in the workplace. Students will have the opportunity to apply their understanding of professionalism by responding to case studies based on typical workplace situations.

This workshop will provide students with an overview of the CREW Center as well as strategies for connecting with available jobs. Students will understand the value of networking and how to clearly communicate their message to potential employers. Students will also learn how to conduct a successful informational interview.
